My ex behaved very similarly when he got deep into his affair with another woman. He dressed differently, constantly attended to his appearance, showered a lot, washed his clothes a lot, stopped bringing his cell phone into the house, and had a photo of her on his phone (he left it behind when he left me, a treasure trove of illicit love affair nonsense).
It's hard to accept the reality, but he's likely cheating on you. Protect yourself NOW. Read some of the signs he's cheating on this site. If I'd known sooner, I'd have booted him to the curb sooner.
Talk to him, though, and share your suspicions. Be prepared to fight for your marriage if that's what you want or to protect yourself quickly (hiding away money, etc.) if you just want him gone.
