Temporary escape
by Leea Homeag
(Nijmegen, The Netherlands)
The other girl came in his life
With fireworks of passion
And he forgot about his wife
Caught in this girl’s attraction
They felt in love playing this game
Of sweet “what ifs” and teasing,
Is it his fault? Is she to blame?
This love was just too pleasing…
It felt so right, so fun, so great
To hold each other’s hands,
To stop this game was way too late
With all those “What if” plans.
They promised love as in forever,
And sealed it with a kiss,
And didn’t think that life would ever
Take away this bliss.
But they broke up, he had to leave,
His choice was made by others,
His wife was willing to receive
His tears for another.
The other girl loved him so much,
How crazy life can be,
She’s learned her lesson with a dutch.
The other girl is me…
