As a specialist in Infidelity Recovery, I will meet with you as soon as we can find an appointment. As you have already discovered, this traumatic crisis causes deep pain,, anguish and confusion. In the first session we will lower some of the volatility so that you can map out the weeks ahead as to how to deal with each other and the pain and flashbacks.

In subsequent sessions I will help you decide if the two of you want to explore the possibility of staying together. If so, I will encourage you to begin to piece together a narrative of what made the marriage vulnerable to an affair. I will help you move beyond the stage of attack/defend into a mutual exploring of the things that could help you rebuild your marriage.

Many couples will naturally say that this is the worst thing that has ever happened. But after finding new tools of communication, helpful ways to deal with conflict and anger, and new expressions of intimacy, many couples recognize that it has been a wake up call and in some ways something that has made a huge positive difference in the future of the marriage.
