41 years of marriage thrown away

Last month I found out my husband of forty one years was involved in an overseas scam that resulted in over one hundred thousand dollars being lost.

In addition sending money, cell phones, computers and web cams to women (??) in South Africa. This seems to be the tip of the iceberg.

I am devastated and having real problems dealing with the almost daily discoveries of more sordid details.

I am 62 and have not worked outside the home since 1972. In addition we have joint custody of our granddaughter.

She lives with us, now me, and she too is hurt. She adores her grandfather. She has dealt with many disappointments and this tops all of them.

Can anyone explain, tell or help me try to figure out how anyone could do this to his family.
