He ain't a Real Man

by diane Baum

For twenty years we lived as husband and wife-
sharing two kids, a house and a boat.
A note I found, written in crayon, stating sorry things don't always work out like you plan.
Written in crayon!!!!!
He'd found himself another love, so said the note and he didn't want to hurt me-but it was time for him to move out.
After twenty years, he left me-bills unpaid and children not understanding...cause he had to find his real self.
He found a younger woman, she laughed at all his jokes and turned a blind eye to his faults.
He ain't a real man, not one who runs and hides from life passing by.
Someday my prince will come!
